Although the ECOTIP project ended in May 2024, we had a strong cooperation with FACE-IT and CHARTER EU projects and wanted to jointly disseminate our final research results together at the EU Polar Science Week in Copenhagen on september 5th, 2024, since FACE-IT and CHARTER projects are also soon ending.

Simon Jungblut (FACE-IT, University of Bremen) and Bruce Forbes (CHARTER, University of Lapland) chaired a session on Day three of the EU Polar Science week entitled "Arctic biodiversity at a crossroads - Research directions along the land-coast-ocean continuum", where presentations were held on
- "Biodiversity and carbon sequestration in the Arctic seas" by Marja Koski (ECOTIP, DTU Aqua)
- "The collapsing coastal cryosphere: Consequences from ecology to economics" by Kai Bischof (FACE-IT, University of Bremen)
- "Shifting social-ecological systems, limits to adaptation and biodiversity in a warming tundra biome" by Mariana García Criado (CHARTER, University of Edinburgh)
- "Changes of the cryosphere and linkages to space observable biodiversity indicators" by Annett Bartsch (CHARTER, b. geos)
- "Protecting the vulnerable Arctic biodiversity and EU perspective" by Larissa Lorinczi (DG R&I)

The three Horizon EU-funded projects had overlapping research focus on Arctic biodiversity changes, and complimentary perspectives from land (CHARTER), coasts (FACE-IT) and in oceans (ECOTIP) allowed us to communicate the results of our research effectively, together at several phases of our projects and at many Arctic events, including:
- A webinar entitled "Plugging Critical Gaps In The Understanding Of Arctic Marine Biodiversity And Climate Feedbacks"
- A policy briefing on Arctic biodiversity, climate and food security at the EU Commission's department for Research and Innovation in Brussels
- Policy Recommendations For Arctic Biodiversity, Climate And Food Security
- The inaugural event "Greenland Marine Research Seminar"
- A Report On The First Greenland Marine Research Seminar
- The 2024 Eu Arctic Forum And Indigenous Peoples' Dialogue
- A synthesis of research results of five thematic areas for EU research priorities and research gaps left to fill for Carbon sequestration, Land use change and socio-ecological systems, Environmental economics, Biodiversity and novel ecosystems and Land-coast-ocean interactions in a melting cryosphere.
We would like to thank our colleagues involved in FACE-IT and CHARTER EU project research for the good cooperation over the years and to our audiences for reading our results and taking this new knowledge forward into action.
